Funding conditions of the 7th EU Research Framework Programme

Short overview of the prerequisites:

• Funding is provided for application-oriented research that goes well beyond the current state of the art and is measured according to its scientific and/or technological excellence.
• Projects have to include at least three European partners who are independent of each other.
• The funding is intended for research that is geared towards the requirements of end users who are responsible for security (such as security and emergency services or operators of security-relevant infrastructure). The inclusion of these end users is one of the selection criteria.
• As a rule, the funding will go to collaborative projects in which research institutions, universities, businesses and end users work together. Depending on their size, the collaborative projects are classified as demonstration projects, integrating projects or capability projects. In addition, the instrument of "coordination and support actions" is available for networking activities.
