Society and Economy

Processes of change or transformations in society with the goal of sustainable development are at the centre of Social-ecological Research (SÖF), for which the BMBF has allocated a funding initiative since 2001. Within the funding programme "Economics for sustainability" (initiated in 2006), economic sciences and their special competencies in questions of assessment, the analysis of innovation processes and efficient institutions, markets and regulations are utilised for the ongoing sustainability dialogue.
