Integrated technology expertise in the field of electric mobility

In times of scarce resources and increasing pollutant emissions, energyefficient and environmentally friendly mobility is becoming increasingly important. This is where electric mobility can make an important contribution. In the Electric Mobility South-West cluster, partners from the fields of automotive engineering, energy and supply engineering, information and communications technologies (ICT) and services, as well as the cross-section field production engineering, are working on new concepts for electric mobility. They combine their expertise in cross-disciplinary research projects. In this way, the cluster attains new, integrated technology expertise for innovative solutions in sustainable mobility. The products developed in the cluster can be operated with low emissions and acquired economically. The central projects include the development of innovative services for networked mobility and the planning of quality-oriented, series-flexible battery production systems.

The cluster embraces the Karlsruhe-Mannheim-Stuttgart-Ulm region and as one of the largest regional groups in the field of electric mobility it cross-links around 80 key players from industry, universities and research institutes, including important international companies as well as small and medium-sized enterprises.

The goal of the cluster is to make the companies in the region worldleading providers of mobility solutions and Germany the leading provider and lead market for e-mobility of international standing.
