5 - 6 March 2012
An award ceremony for the German High Tech Champions Competition in Sustainable Transportation will bring the winning scientists and Indian industry executives together in Gurgaon. The winning business cases for sustainable public and private transportation in Indian mega-cities will be presented at the ceremony. Afterwards, guests will have an exclusive chance to discuss business opportunities with the champions and to get to know their research institutions. In addition, breakout-sessions focusing on the newest technology developments in logistics and transportation (automotive and rail engineering) will be held on the next day. Both events fall within the framework of the Fraunhofer Innovation & Technology Platform "City Spaces," which aims to identify R&D needs and promote the exchange of information between scientists and industry. 29 - 31 March 2012
The second international research alumni meeting held as part of a joint research marketing campaign by German science organisations will take place in Gurgaon, New Delhi Capital Region this March. Its aim is to create an inter-organisational network to promote Germany as a location for research. About 60 research alumni from various German institutions will attend the conference "New Frontiers: Shifting Trends in the Global Research Landscape and their Impact on Researchers' Career Patterns," where they will discuss, among other things, the importance of networks for transatlantic academic careers and how to continue gaining junior researchers for stays in and cooperations with Germany in the face of growing international competition. The event, which has been organized by the Alexander von Humboldt Foundation, includes the launching of a cross-organisatinal Network of Research Alumni in India. For more information, click here.
German Study and Research Expo18 - 26 February 2012
The German Academic Exchange Service (DAAD) has organized a delegation of 18 German universities, research and funding institutions to tour across India and present their master and PhD opportunities. The expo provided an excellent platform for one-to-one exchanges with representatives of German universities and research organisations. The expo was open to all disciplines, but the focus was primarily on Natural Sciences, Engineering, Biotechnology, Life Sciences, Economics, and Management.
The German Study & Research Expo India 2012 is part of "Germany and India 2011-2012: Infinite Opportunities," a fifteen-month collaborative celebration held in India from September 2011 to November 2012 on the occasion of completing 60 years of Indo-German diplomatic relations. 20 - 24 February 2012
Outstanding scientists from India and Germany came together to present cutting-edge research projects in the field of life sciences at the Indo-German Research Dialogues, organized by the German Research Foundation (DFG). The dialogues, which took place in New Delhi, Hyderabad, and Pune, offered participants a unique behind-the-scenes look at global challenges and recent trends. Researcher discussed the benefits and considerations of collaborative research as well as offered first-hand information on the opportunities created by such bilateral projects.
