Researching together with the world's best - The BMBF'S International Science Years

The Federal Government's strategy for the internationalization of science and research strengthens Germany's role in the global knowledge society. Country-specific science years are a fundamental part of this internationalization strategy. For several years, the BMBF has been organizing these science years together with strategically important partner countries - countries with which we already have a long tradition of cooperation.
The science years focus on collaboration in cutting-edge research and the individual excellence of each country, with the aim of increasing visibility and providing new impetus for the further development of international relationships. Over the course of the year, research institutions and educational facilities in both countries are invited to present bilateral projects to the public, to strengthen exchange between young academics, and to support cooperation. A comprehensive information campaign with activity highlights, special publications, an internet portal with an event calendar, newsletters, multimedia elements, and advertising material all support the impact of multifaceted events.
