Open House 2012

The Federal Government's 14th annual open house was held on 18 and 19 August 2012. Under the motto "Invitation to a State Visit," things at the BMBF officially got under way with State Secretary Rachel at 11:00 on Saturday. Visitors were invited to experience Project EARTH: Our Future, where they could build their own wild bee hotel, participate in exciting experiments, and discover their wild side with the green-haired lion and Kika star Oskar Leopold Immergrün.

Visitors were invited to test their knowledge at our interactive quiz on sustainability, find out what's behind the ScienceStation, and take home their self-made wild bee hotels.
On our stage in the garden, we had a great entertainment programme for young and old with the green-haired lion and Kika star Oskar Leopold Immergrün.

Cabaret artist and comedian David LeukertThe crowd was entertained by the unique children's magic show with Sascha Lange, and stunned by the talented winners of the national competitions "Treffen junge Musik-Szene" and "Treffen junger Autoren." The Union Sozialer Einrichtungen served tasty treats from the wok and the grill, while the Dizzy Swingers entertained with Bossa Nova and jazz. Our laughing muscles were put to the test on Sunday at 17:20, when well-known cabaret artist and comedian David Leukert performed his programme "Eltern-Deutsch, Deutsch-Eltern - Erziehung und andere Kampfsportarten" - fun for the whole family.
