
The Equal Opportunities Commissioner is elected for four years and is a member of the personal administration. She is not bound by instructions and is released from all her other duties.
She supports and supervises the implementation of the Federal Equal Opportunities Act at the BMBF. She cooperates on all staff, organizational and social measures within the BMBF which involve the equality of men and women and the compatibility of family and work. In particular, she is involved from an early stage in drafting the BMBF's Equal Opportunities Plan.
She plays a role in drafting the guidelines for staff assessments and takes part in talks aimed at ensuring the uniform application of the arrangements made.
The Equal Opportunities Commissioner advises and supports staff at the Ministry in individual cases, particularly with regard to professional advancement, overcoming disadvantages and questions of the compatibility of family and job.
