Tasks of the JAV

The JAV is contact partner for questions concerning trainees - particularly when there are problems involving training. It explains the interests of trainees to the staff council and ensures that these interests are taken seriously. 

Control and supervision:

The JAV ensures that the existing legislation in favour of trainees is observed (e.g. Law on the Protection of Minors at Work, Vocational Training Act, etc.). It makes sure that training is to the advantage of the trainee. Furthermore it ensures that trainees are not employed in jobs which have nothing to do with their training or in ancillary jobs.

Putting forward suggestions:

The Youth and Trainee Representative Council can apply to the local staff council for measures which affect training at the Ministry (e.g. additional tuition at the Ministry, better office equipment, etc.).
