
On 20 February 2008, the Federal Cabinet adopted the Federal Government's Strategy for the Internationalization of Science and Research under the title Strengthening Germany's role in the global knowledge society. With this strategy, the Federal Government supports the internationalization of science and research in order to achieve four aims:
To this end, measures to improve the mobility of scientific staff, strengthen international cooperation in research programmes, and establish an international research agenda are being implemented. They are accompanied by a coordinated presentation of the German science landscape abroad, information about German science and industry, and targeted advertising to present Germany as an excellent place for study, research and innovation.
