In an increasingly globalized world, competition for the opportunities of the future has become for Germany an international competition for high quality education systems. Thus participation in international comparative assessments is of great significance. In the recent years, Germany has taken part in important international performance comparisons like PISA, IGLU, TIMMS, and EAG.
Annually published by the OECD, "Education at a Glance" provides an international perspective on questions of educational policy.
