Young scientists from all over the world are invited to submit their research on sustainability to the Green Talents Competition until 19 May 2021 (2 p.m. CEST).
Looking for smart minds from all over the world: The Green Talents Competition focuses on outstanding young scientists who are active in the field of sustainable development. Every year, the Federal Ministry of Education and Research (BMBF) honours 25 young researchers – who are engaged in excellent interdisciplinary work on environmental topics and who, at the same time, have a strong interest in the German scientific landscape and in collaborations with leading German experts – with the ‘Green Talents’ award, under the patronage of Minister Anja Karliczek. Since its inception, the award has recognised 282 young researchers and scientists from 72 different countries for their outstanding achievements and contributions to making their communities, countries and societies more sustainable.
The 25 awardees are selected by a jury of renowned German experts and are granted unique access to the country’s sustainability research scene. They get to know leading German sustainability institutions and companies that provide exclusive virtual insights into their cutting-edge research and projects. Virtual one-on-one meetings with German experts will explore opportunities for future joint research collaborations. Moreover, the awardees will have the opportunity to come to Germany for up to three months to conduct a research stay at an institution of their own choice the following year. The competition aims at creating sustainable networks of German science institutions and the best international young researchers as well as at promoting the German research landscape abroad.
